Data Engineer – Chicago West Suburbs

We are looking for a Data Engineer or Senior Data Engineer for a growing client in the suburbs. This position will be a hybrid mix of onsite and remote, at the office too but working from home several days per week with plenty of flexibility as needed. Their Data Engineers work as a collaborative team to build and maintain data platforms that support data-informed decisions across the organization. The ideal person will have worked with AWS or Python and have basic data development skills along with some Data Modeling ability.

  • Design, create and deliver ETL solutions and design documents
  • Create Technical Documentation
  • Debug mappings and identify errors
  • Build and maintain data infrastructure and manage data storage and use
  • Build data expertise and own data quality across organization
  • Design, build, and launch new data models
  • Partner with cross-functional teams of Account Executives, Data Scientists, and Software Engineers to understand data needs and deliver on those needs
  • Support data processing and reporting at scale
  • Triage mission-critical issues and drive to resolution
  • Support existing processes running in production

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years’ experience working in SQL and relational database management systems
  • 2+ years’ experience with dimensional data modeling, schema design, and data warehousing
  • 2+ years’ experience in ETL design, implementation, and maintenance
  • Some experience with AWS Cloud / Redshift preferred
  • Experience with large-scale data and query optimization techniques
  • Ability to write well-abstracted, reusable code
  • Ability to analyze data to identify deliverables, gaps, and inconsistencies

Data Engineer: Deefield, Illinois with Salary to: $135,000

Responsibilities include:

  • Architect, design and develop flexible, secure and scalable database solutions for the data warehouse, business applications and IoT/digital technologies
  • Understand data in the big picture and how information flows and relates to various applications and internal/external systems
  • Design, develop and execute ETL processes
  • Develop deep understanding of the data sources, implement data standards, maintain data quality, master data management and identify data transformation needs
  • Analyzing large quantities of data in on-premise and cloud platforms like AWS or Azure
  • Work with internal stakeholders to understand business needs, technology options and recommend solutions

    • Worked on Real Time data capture, processing and storing
    • Working with different data storage options including AWS S3, Azure BLOB storage etc.
    • Understanding of different data formats including Parquet, Avro, CSV, ORC etc.
    • Experience with API/RESTful data services

Our client is looking for experienced Project Manager which oversee Client facing cross-functional teams responsible for delivering defined project outcomes on time and within quality specifications. The Project Manager plans, organizes, monitors and oversees multiple work streams for a project; work streams can be business and/or technology related.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Defines and create the project scope and project plan for project and drives the overall project progress and quality of the delivery.
  • Collaborates with project team members to develop a detailed project schedule that is aggressive, yet realistic, and sets the project up for success.
