Splunk Security Engineer – Chicago Loop

We are looking for a Security Engineer for a growing company in downtown Chicago. This position will be mostly remote, working onsite in downtown Chicago one day per week. In this role you will serve as the SME for security and compliancy, including working with Splunk, vulnerability tools, and PCI compliancy as necessary.

This environment includes Splunk, Snort, and Saint, and you’ll also help support network and systems infrastructure as needed. You’ll work on IPS/IDS, Data Loss Prevention; Malware Prevention, Digital Forensics, and do Pen Testing.

Required:

3 years of professional SIEM, Security experience

Experience with Splunk, Vulnerability Management Tools, and Pen Testing

Assist with PCI and SOX compliancy

Senior CNC Administrator – Tinley Park, IL [to $120,000]

Must have 5 to 7 years of experience requirement(s) for this Senior CNC Administrator position:

  • Familiarity with Oracle database (JDE), Microsoft SQL Server and DB2 (AS400)..
  • Strong knowledge of the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Technical Foundation tools and CNC functionality.
  • JD Edwards 9.1 upgrade experience a plus (and 9.2 a huge bonus).
  • Excellent technical knowledge, aptitude, and experience in the areas of server administration, networks, Workstations, JDE application software and troubleshooting/problem-solving techniques.
  • Responsible for maintenance, support and deployment of JDE EnterpriseOne.

  • JDE Administration of security, print, batch queues, ang and monitoring via Server Manager.
  • Create and manage environments, pathcodes, and instances.
  • Risk mitigation and monitor and manage application system performance and availability.
  • Provide complete and timely support for end users.
  • Keep current and up-to-date with application architecture, ESU and service pack releases, functionality, and other CNC components.

Senior Systems Engineer – Tinley Park, IL [to $100,000]

Senior Systems Engineer will have primary responsibility for the day to day operation and monitoring of software and storage systems and hardware. The Senior Systems Engineer will serve as the escalation point for other Systems Engineers and Service Desk personnel in troubleshooting end user issues. Additionally, the Senior Systems Engineer will provide strategic capacity planning and develop a roadmap for technology.

Additional responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

·        Operate and maintain Office 365 to include Exchange in the Cloud

·        Operate and maintain system patches, software, storage and hardware systems

·        Serve as an escalation point for Service Desk personnel to troubleshoot end user issues with exceptional customer service

·        Assist the IT Systems Manager in developing standard work for all Service Desk procedures related to systems operations

·        Provide operational metrics to the IT Systems Manager

·        Ensure standard work is being followed in the operation and maintenance of all systems under the role’s span of control.

·        Plan and assist in the implementation of new systems and the decommissioning of end of life systems

·        Assess the current environment and suggest/engineer improvement paths where needed

·        Conducts project planning, cost analysis and vendor comparisons, creating a department blueprint for technology needs.

·        Coach, train, and mentor less experienced Systems Engineers and Service Desk team members.

  • Bachelors Degree preferred
  • 6 years of relevant experience
  • MCP or MCSE/MCTS certifications required
  • Experience in systems operation and maintenance
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Must possess a continuous/process improvement focus
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to operate independently or within a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor less experienced team members
