.NET Application Development Manager (to $160K)

The .NET Application Development Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, monitoring and controlling all aspects of application development related to websites, implementation and maintenance of development tools, and control of deployment activities.

This manager will be responsible for mentoring developers and ensuring that they develop and improve skillsets necessary to develop web applications. This person, together with the Director, will also be responsible for planning and deploying resources to projects. The development manager will proactively interface, with internal and external customers, vendors, project managers, business analysts and the technical/programming staff to ensure effective definition and the delivery of business applications. This position reports to the Director.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage IT Development staff and contractors
  • Manage the design, development and delivery of quality business applications
  • Provide guidance and approve design solutions developed by the Web Architect
  • Provide guidance and direction for solution designs; responsible for the delivery of a sound solution for all IT Web projects
  • Provide direction on application design through the various life cycle stages from business need through design and delivery
  • Manage project priorities, scope, budgets, timelines and expectations
  • Review and assess vendor solutions and proposals
  • Lead the development of project documentation and training materials where applicable
  • Provide technical support and assistance as necessary
  • Establish and enforce best practices and implement policies and procedures for compliance to ensure companywide standards are followed and meet SOX compliance
  • Provide management with regular communication on the progress of projects and other initiatives
  • Coordinate intradepartmental projects and resources
  • Responsible for the management of staffing
  • Responsible for mentoring direct reports and writing annual reviews; provide periodic feedback to staff and identify training opportunities
  • Facilitate a departmental culture that encourages ownership of departmental goals and a positive service culture

Experience/Qualifications Include;

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years demonstrated application development management experience in an ERP environment
  • Strong technical knowledge of ASP.NET and development tools such as DevExpress
  • Results-oriented professional who is a self starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to use MS Office tools: Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Visio, Project
  • Demonstrated success of establishing, managing and maintaining effective working relationships at the management level, internal and external to an organization
  • Strong leadership, teaching and mentoring skills
  • Critical thinking, strong analytical skills and problem solving ability
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects, requests and support tasks effectively and efficiently
  • Must be a team player
  • Knowledge of any ERP System, Aldon, Robot, XML, HTML, ASP.NET a plus
  • Experience integrating websites to an IBM i in a B2B and B2C environment a plus
